HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES (KENYA) HOLDS A SENSITIZATION TALK FOR MACHAKOS UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Huawei Technologies (Kenya) Ltd, the mother parent of Huawei ICT Academy Team held a career sensitization talk for our students on 2nd October, 2019 in the University. The talk focused on the Huawei Authorized Information Networking Courses that are currently conducted in the University and the upcoming ICT competition for students.  The students were challenged to seek ways of improving their knowledge on ICT to remain relevant in the Market and the world at large since technology is always changing.

The competition, in its 2nd year in Kenya, includes both practice competition and innovation competition. Speaking during the event, the Registrar (Research Innovation & Linkages), Dr. Wycliffe Amukowa urged the students to embrace the competition as it has many benefits including scholarships and job offers once one wins the competition.  

Ms. Suki of Huawei technologies, informed the students that Machakos University was one of the authorized Huawei ICT academies and that one of the Machakos University student who went through the Haina Certification Training and qualified had been given an internship opportunity at Huawei Technologies. She encouraged the students to join the competition since these competitions improve the digital skills of the students, contribute more to education and industry transformation, and achieve far-reaching goals. She emphasized that Huawei continues to develop talent standards, build talent alliances, and disseminate talent value to build a healthy and robust ICT talent ecosystem.

The students were taken through the competition processes which included Registration, boot camp, preliminary examination, training and later a mock examination to qualify for the finals.
