AJIRY CENTER LAUNCHES OPERATIONS AT MACHAKOS UNIVERSITY
Ajiry Center, a platform for youth empowerment was launched on 24th February 2023 at Machakos University with the aim of promoting youth empowerment through training, mentorship and employment. The Launch was attended by the Ajiry team, led by Brian Mwau, the Lead Developer and Ms. Christine Nganga, the Center Manager, Machakos. Other guests in attendance were representatives from Machakos County Government, Laikipia Government and the University Management Board. The project is as a result of the collaboration with Tribus-TSG, a subsidiary of Centum Investment PLC, and is being funded by Mastercard Foundation. The Center will focus on bridging the gap between the employed and unemployed by equipping the youth with the necessary skills through career trainings and sensitizations. The Center will be officially launched by the Chancellor, Dr. James Mworia on 28th April 2023 during the 7th Graduation Ceremony. Students were excited with the launch of the Center and they expressed interest in benefitting from the activities of the center. Mr. Victor Kibe, a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Education was fortunate enough to secure a position as a Technical Support Staff at the Centre, and has been a great motivation and example for most of the students.
