INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING

Staff and students drawn from various Schools and Departments attended a training on innovation and entrepreneurship which was held on Friday, 15th September, 2023. The training which aimed at enhancing the capacity of the researchers and students to link Research and Innovation outputs to entrepreneurship activities was conducted by the Chief Value Officer at Mwalimu Biashara Limited, Nairobi, Mr. Kennon Mwiti Mbae.

In his opening remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Linkages), Prof. Peter Mwita, gave a brief history of how a number of innovations in the university had translated to great products, citing among others, the Ivoting system. He informed the participants that the university supports innovations from inception to end product.  He pointed out that many innovators shy away from protecting their innovations a function which the university can take up.  He encouraged participants to put into practice what they will learn from the training.

The trainer, Mr. Kennon Mbae took the participants through ways of converting innovations to start-ups.
