THE VICE-CHANCELLOR LAUNCHES MACHAKOS UNIVERSITY CLEANING AND ENVIRONMENT DAY

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lucy Irungu launched Machakos University Cleaning and Environment Day on Friday 6th July 2018. This event will be held on every last Friday of each month to ensure that the University achieves the highest standards of cleanliness. Present at the launch were Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation and Linkages, Prof. Peter Mwita, Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academics and Student Affairs, Prof. Joyce Agalo and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Administration, Planning and Finance, Prof. Douglas Shitanda, all registrars, staff and students

In her message, the Vice-Chancellor said that Machakos University will maintain a tradition of cleaning enshrined in; cleaning for safety, Cleaning for brand protection and Cleaning to protect the lifespan of facilities.

 

“So, ladies and gentlemen, today I launch Machakos University Cleaning and Environment Day, with one key message, Keep Machakos University Clean. Cleaning plays a vital role in our daily lives, be it personal hygiene or setting environmental standards. Effective cleaning is our defense against viruses and infectious diseases and it is our tool to win public confidence and remain attractive.” Prof. Irungu remarked.
